In 2018, I'm Back. Samuel Mello Medeiros, along with his partner Filippo Nishino, founded "I'm Back GmbH," a company based in Lugano, Switzerland. That same year, they received recognition at the Photokina fair in Cologne, Germany, winning an award alongside Panasonic and Fujifilm from the Cinema 5D blog. Additionally, they secured second place in Switzerland for the best Startup of the year. Despite facing criticism for deviating from the norm, they persisted, believing in their vision. Their unconventional approach earned them praise from renowned figures in photography and the photographic industry. After numerous successful campaigns on Kickstarter, in 2023 I'm Back GmbH partnered with "Yashica" cameras. Together, they are now introducing innovative products to the market, blending cutting-edge technology with Yashica's iconic legacy in photography history.
What does it mean to back a project (pledge)?
When you back a project, you’re pre-ordering the product. That means you'll get it once it's produced. Besides getting the product itself, you're also joining a community. Follow along the production process, take part in important surveys and give the creator valuable feedback.
What is Kickstarter?
Kickstarter is a launchpad for creators to raise funds for the initial production of their invention. Backers (that's you!) can support the creator by pre-ordering the product at a discounted price.
